The Hol List
The Hol List collects the many books on art mentioned on this site. Ultimately, we imagine this list as the primary resource for anyone interested in great books about art. And rather than hosting it in a single location and in a single form (like as a book catalog here on our site) we are interested in spreading it as a data source across other users and applications including booksellers, libraries, other publishers, and readers. A sort of decentralized, customizable, virtual card catalog.
For now at least, books get on The Hol List by:
- publishing with Hol as one of our project books
- winning an award or other recognition and so being featured on the site's sidebar
- being pertinent and interesting enough to be reviewed and recommended in our email newsletter
- being reviewed and listed on the reviews section of the Hol Notebook blog, or just capturing our personal fancy
